Included in your sessions, I will also teach you a wonderful tool of self-empowerment: self hypnosis! Not only is this helpful to reinforce the suggestions you receive during your hypnosis sessions, but it can also be used, on your own, to enhance and make many more positive changes in your life. It is a very pleasurable experience that you will enjoy practicing every day!

WHY DO I NEED SELF HYPNOSIS?

We are programmed the moment we enter this world to become the person we are today. We are taught how to act and what to believe by those who surrounded us in our youth. Some of this program, probably not intentionally, form into actions or thoughts that are not beneficial to our emotional or physical health. For example, maybe every time you cried when you were a child you were given sweets to console you. Your subconscious mind now associates sweets with a feeling of comfort. Comfort is a feeling we crave, therefore, we become addicted to sweets and may become overweight.

We may also have self-limiting beliefs imposed into our subconscious. Take for example, baby elephants born into the circus. They are taught from birth to be led by ropes around their necks. As adults, they continue to believe these tiny pieces of rope have control over their massive bodies. Humans experience these same self-limiting beliefs. Maybe your parents, although meaning well, were very overprotective. This could cause you to believe you are incapable of doing things on your own, or to be overly cautious about every choice you make.

Whatever programming you received, it is stored in your subconscious. Our subconscious mind is ruled by our emotions. As in a computer, our subconscious mind is our hard drive, the basis of our personality. When situations arise we deal with situations the way we were programmed to deal with them. This occurs even though our conscious mind, ruled by logic, knows it may not be the best way to deal with a situation. Emotions will always win against logic. You get upset, you eat a pint of ice cream. You are stressed, you smoke a cigarette because you believe it relaxes you.

 

WHAT CAN SELF HYPNOSIS DO FOR ME?

As you probably know, human beings are blessed with the gift to change their mind. Unfortunately, it is not as simple as we would like. Those subconscious feelings programmed into us, make things more difficult. This is where self hypnosis comes in. It empowers you to make changes in your life. You can use self hypnosis to "rewire" your old programming into new programming. This new reprogramming is reinforced every time you repeat the new action and will eventually weaken or eliminate the old programming. The person who is interested in quitting smoking must be the one to make the appointment. Hypnosis will only work if the person believes in it and if they really have a desire to quit, not because they are being asked to quit by someone else.

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

The first step in the process is to have a conscious desire to change. Your conscious mind cannot fool your subconsious. You cannot expect change for yourself because someone else wants you to change. You do not have to consciously know why the issue exists or where it came from. Your subconscious mind knows and that is where hypnosis makes the necessary changes. Of course, it cannot physically change the acts of the past, but it can help change your perception and allow yourself to deal with your issue in a better way. Maybe instead of reaching for food for comfort, you will now take a walk or maybe call a friend. There are so many possibilities!

Once you have the desire to change, the next step is to learn how. That is where I come in. I will teach you a self hypnosis method to practice every day between sessions. This will reinforce what we are doing during the sessions. Although, some issues require a more objective, in-depth session with a hypnotist, you can use self hypnosis to make many changes in your life. It is recommended that it be done 0n a daily basis for the rest of your life, even if it is only to re-energize you or relax you with a few moments of peacefulness. It will probably be the favorite part of your day!
